Delete your account

Last updated: September 16, 2026

You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app. There is a 30-day grace period first, so a deletion made in a bad moment can be undone.

Read this part before anything else. Deleting your account does not cancel your Apple subscription. And your Apple subscription does not cancel your account either: it is still deleted on the date you are shown. Apple bills the subscription, so only Apple can stop it. Cancel it in your device's subscription settings first, or Apple keeps charging you after your account is gone.

How to do it in the app

Open the app and go to Home. Under Your account, you will see two choices, and the gentler one comes first: Cancel / pause my account keeps your account and your progress for whenever you come back. It does not stop the billing on its own: it sends you to Apple's subscription screen, which is where a subscription is cancelled, and Apple does not offer a pause for monthly subscriptions. If you are not sure, that is the one most people actually want.

The second choice is Delete my account. The app will ask you to confirm, and then it will tell you the date the grace period ends. Deleting is permanent.

Playing as a guest, with no account? There is a Delete my data option for you too, and it works the same way: your request starts the same 30-day grace period, and you can cancel it from inside the app, the same way, before the 30 days are up. After that, the guest profile and its progress are removed from the phone and from our servers.

The 30-day grace period

What is deleted, and when

When What happens
The day you ask The request is recorded. Nothing is deleted yet. You can still change your mind.
Days 1–29 The grace period. Signing in, or buying, cancels the request.
Day 30 The grace period closes. The app stops accepting anything new from your account.
Day 30, that night A nightly job deletes the lot: your profile and all your learning progress, your account, your subscription state, every way of signing in that was on the account, the record of your Apple purchase, your billing periods, the messages Apple sent us about your subscription, and your sign-in itself. If you used Sign in with Apple, that permission is revoked with Apple as part of the same job.
Up to about day 60 The last backup copy expires. Backups run on a fixed 30-day cycle and cannot be edited — only left to expire — so a backup taken shortly before day 30 can still hold a copy for up to 30 days more.

Deletion from the live service completes 30 days after you ask. The last backup copy expires up to about 60 days after you ask. We do not promise 30 days end to end, because that would not be true.

What is not deleted

Anonymous totals — how often a particular question is answered correctly across everybody — stay. They have no person attached to them, nothing in them points back at you, and deleting your account does not change them.

If you cannot get into the app

E-mail support@yourbibleapp.com from the e-mail address on your account and ask us to delete it. If you sign in with Apple or Google, write from the e-mail address that sign-in uses; if you cannot, say so in the message and we will work out with you how to confirm the account is yours — we will not delete an account on the word of someone we cannot tie to it.

The same warning applies: ask Apple to cancel the subscription as well, or it keeps being billed.

Deleting is not the same as cancelling
